Who Are We?

For the past 130 years in the United Kingdom the Army Cadet Force has been giving a helping hand to young people, between 13 and 18 years of age, to develop their full potential. It offers all those sound military based principles of which we are proud - and a great deal more.

Today it continues to provide friendship, discipline, leadership, challenging outdoor activities - expeditions, survival techniques, adventurous training and sport. Although sponsored by the Army, it is a national youth movement, just as concerned with good citizenship and personal development as with military training and skills.

Discipline and personal pride are important. Such self-discipline can be reflected in the conquering of a hazardous 20,000ft Himalayan peak as well as the achievement of polishing a pair of boots!

adventurous activities... friendship... lots of fun...

Activities include both military and adventurous training weekends and annual camps. The Duke of Edinburgh's Awards, Service to the Community and the Army Cadet Force's own progressive qualification scheme (from one star to four) are recognized as valuable qualifications by employers.
